The Blouin Global Scholars at Walsh University is a living-learning community dedicated to developing students as “leaders in service with a global perspective.” The Blouin Scholars form a community of mutual support between peers, university staff and faculty in which students commit themselves to become leaders in solving major global issues and problems. Rooted in the believe of the dignity of all persons and the community of mankind, the Blouin Global Scholars seek to bring their time, talents, and energies to healing the problems of suffering and injustice within the world. The theme for the Freshman Blouin Global Scholar Program is Global Healthcare . Please note this program is not for students studying in a healthcare field... In fact, we look for students with a diversity of majors and interests. Students in the program take cohort courses, participate in two global programs and complete a capstone project in their Senior year. Students will have TWO global learning experiences (to Africa and capstone experience in a global city) covered by the scholarship. Students will be REQUIRED to live within the learning-community for a minimum of one year (Lemmon Commons) Students will also be required to take the required Blouin Scholar classes in 2020-2021 ELIGIBILITY: 1) Must be a currently enrolled freshman 2) Must have a 3.0 or above at Walsh University 3) Must be in good social standing Please click the acceptance for the $200 deposit- Note you will not be charged $200.
