August 17 - October 12, 2013 How? Apply online, pay $200 deposit at the Student Service Center, and be accepted by the Office of Global Learning Cost: Pay your usual tuition, fees, room and board with all financial aid applying! Additional costs include: $1000 program fee, airfare, and personal spending money COURSES: GL 350 - The Rome Experience (6 credits towards H1, H2a, H2b, or H3 - you pick two!) ITAL 101 or 102 Elementary Italian (3 credits) NS 109 Technology and Society (3 credits - Tier One NS) Students will enroll in the above courses with the option of an independent study while in Rome. They will have morning lecture/discussion, with continued exploration through research and observation during the afternoons and out-of-town site visits. Once students identify which Heritage series credits they want through GL 350, they will have their own portfolio to create and present once they return to main campus. You now have the freedom to design your own education in Rome. Dr. Kim will act as facilitator in student-driven projects, but also teach the Technology and Society course, in which students will examine the history of technology in Italy and the world and its effects on societies past and present.
