Students on this program will look at faith in the city of Rome from a historic and present perspective. Students will explore paganism, the introduction of the Jewish community, and the rise of Christianity and the Catholic Church. Understanding and reflecting on history will help prepare students to reflect upon our world, this time, and our contemporary issues. The faculty leader for this course is Rabbi John Spitzer. Students will stay on Walsh University's beautiful campus in Castel Gandolfo, Italy, which is 15 miles south of the city of Rome. While in Rome, you will use the Eternal City as your classroom with continued exploration through research and observation. Students enrolling in this program and course will have required coursework before the start of the program and after return.
